What's the point?
The agnostic Robert Jastrow sums up the issue concisely and precisely when stating that
there are two beliefs and two theories. The first theory places the question of the origin of life beyond the reach of scientific inquiry. It is a statement of faith in the power of a Supreme Being not subject to the laws of science. The second theory is also an act of faith. The act of faith consists in assuming that the scientific view of the origin of life is correct, without having concrete evidence to support that belief
CSM has always been staffed by trained technologists and Scientists, several have been
Barristers and investigative Journalists all skilled at dissecting arguments and establishing
the facts and determining the truth. Traditionally, an “about us page” would open by listing
a set of beliefs. This page is not so much a list of beliefs as a list of the key foundational
facts that CSM stand by.
1. Jesus’ death and resurrection are matters of historical fact, facts which build upon
special creation, and the subsequent establishment of the descendancy from Adam
to Jesus, the Son of God.
2. The historical facts reported in the Bible are just that; historical facts; mostly these
are eye witness accounts beginning in Genesis which can also be established from
extra-biblical sources. CSM’s core mission is to communicate these facts beginning
with the creation account as reported in Genesis, through the worldwide flood to
the Birth of Jesus.
3. At CSM we echo Jastrow’s view that evolution is a belief system. Jastrow’s second
option ran “The second theory [ of origins] is also an act of faith…assuming that the
scientific view of the origin of life is correct, without having concrete evidence to
support the belief [in evolution].”
4. Jastrow’s first option ran. ““The first theory…is a statement of faith in the power of a
Supreme Being”. We agree with Jackstrow’s recognition that his preference,
evolution, cannot be established, is based on faith, and is simply an alternative faith
to CSM’s belief in God.
5. The ‘Supreme Being’ is the God of the Bible, which opens with four profound words,
“in the beginning God”. It goes on to describe God and his relationship with his
creation, mankind, which was broken by his adversary, the devil. The bible describes
how order to restore this relationship it was necessary that God pay the ransom
demanded by the devil for mankind’s salvation. That price was the death of his son,
Jesus, on a Roman cross. The price was paid in full through the blood of Jesus.
